MUST SEE: Igor Shesterkin ditches classic gear look!
The reigning Vezina winner will look different this season.

The New York Rangers were able to win 52 games during the 2021-22 regular season thanks in large part to the play of goaltender Igor Shesterkin, who firmly established himself as New York's first bonafide No. 1 goaltender since the retirement of the legendary Henrik Lundqvist. Shesterkin also won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's best at the position, and was also a candidate for the Hart Trophy.
Needless to say, the Rangers are set in goal for the foreseeable future. But for goalie gear nerds like myself, I was surprised to see Shesterkin abandon the design made to look like the iconic ceiling of Madison Square Garden that he's worn the past two seasons. Earlier today during an informal skate, Shesterkin was wearing a completely new gear setup from Brian's Custom Sports, debuting their brand new Optik 3 line.
