He's arguably the the biggest acquisition made by Toronto Maple Leafs general manager via trade in some time, and now he's got his first two tallies as a member of his newest team.
Forward Ryan O'Reilly, who was acquired in last week's blockbuster trade with the St. Louis Blues, has scored his first two goals as a member of the Leafs tonight as part of what was a 1st period onslaught of offense against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo.
His first tally saw him convert on a pass from lineman Mitch Marner not even four minutes into the game's opening frame. It would only take another 37 second for him to score his second, beating goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on a breakaway after taking yet another Marner pass:
