Liberty Bell Jerseys have announced that they will strip names of the five accused players allegedly involved in a sexual assault scandal that occurred during a Hockey Canada event in London in June 2018 for free with donation to sexual violence charity.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Liberty Bell Jerseys offered the removal of the names, adding the statement:

“Don’t bring the “innocent until proven guilty” crap into the comments. I don’t care. I’m providing a service for a charitable donation for fans that don’t want to be associated with someone who is charged with something so heinous.”

Earlier this month, when Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube, Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart, New Jersey Devils defenseman Cal Foote and forward Michael McLeod, all members of that 2018 version of Team Canada, took indefinite leave from their NHL teams, it was impossible to get on the league’s website to purchase jerseys or t-shirts with the players’ name(s) on them.

Former NHL forward Alex Formenton, who was playing pro hockey in Switzerland and took leave from his team before surrendering to police over the weekend, sold a lot of merchandise when he was a member of the Ottawa Senators.

Anyone who is looking to remove the player’s name from a jersey and make a donation to help which ever sexual violence charity Liberty Bell Jerseys chooses, can reach them on their X account where they have a linked to their webpage.

Fans knew many would look to address the situation anyway they can and to some, this may be how they go about it. However, this is likely to be a long process as it believes that a trial in this case is unlikely before 2026.
