An ugly hit.
There's a chance Nate Thompson hears from the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety for this hit.
The referee's needed little deliberation on Friday night when they decided to eject Anaheim Ducks tough guy Nate Thompson after he bloodied up Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk with an ugly elbow.
Thompson didn't even last half, a period getting ejected after only a little over six minutes had run off the clock, that and the fact that the elbow was so blatant made the ejection easy, and could lead to further punishment.
