One of the biggest free agent forwards officially swam off the market earlier this week, as forward Nazem Kadri officially took his talents to northern Canada and signed a seven year contract with the Calgary Flames.

Of course, he'll forever have "Stanley Cup champion" on his resume moving forward, as he was one of the integral pieces of the Colorado Avalanche winning ultimate glory this spring for the first time since 2001. Kadri set a career high last season with the Avs, recording 87 points in 71 games while also contributing another seven goals and eight assists during the postseason.

Kadri also made headlines during the 2nd round of the playoffs against the St. Louis Blues following an inadvertent collision with goaltender Jordan Binnington resulted in numerous death threats against him; he would respond by scoring a hat trick in front of 19,000 angry Blues fans at Scottrade Center.

And while he's now a member of the Flames, Kadri still gets his own day with the Stanley Cup as is tradition for each player and staff member on the championship roster. And according to a report from TSN's Chris Johnston, Kadri will be bringing the Cup back to Toronto; Kadri is a native of the suburb of London, and also suited up several seasons for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

"Nazem Kadri says he plans to bring the Stanley Cup to Toronto as part of his day with the trophy next week. He'll have it at home in London, too."
