Nazem Kadri doesn't back down from anyone, especially not players who make threats after the game is over.

During Tuesday night's action between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets, the pesky Leafs' forward laid a big hit on Jets' defenseman Ben Chiarot late in the second period. Kadri wasn't penalized for the check, but that didn't stop Chiarot from taking exception to the hit.

Chiarot even went as far as to threaten Kadri for what he believed to be a dangerous and illegal hit.

"When you see the video, you see him leave his feet (and) you see him end up in their bench," Chiarot said. "That's fine. It's not the right time or place to chase him down, but there will be a time down the line - it might not be this year, it might not be next year - but there will be a time (when) the shoe will be on the other foot."

When asked about the incident Wednesday, Kadri said he was just trying to finish his check. He also laughed off the Chiabot's threats, stating that he's grown accustomed to this kind of trash talk.

"I'm not worried at all. I'll be here for hopefully a few years, but ... if that (were) one of my teammates getting hit like that, I probably wouldn't be too happy, so I expect that kind of reaction," he said.

The Leafs and Jets don't play each other again this season, so the apparent revenge will have to wait.
