Keystone Press.

For some the hiring of head coach Randy Carlyle by the Anaheim Ducks was the expected result, after all there had been rumors of lobbying from the players behind the scenes, and for some it was a good move.

However there is a loud contingent of fans, pundits and even former players who have come forward and derided the move from the Ducks, questioning why they would bring back a coach who hadn't worked out in the past with the very same group.

Reporter James O'Brien formerly of Pro Hockey Talk and Rotoworld called the deicison as a whole into question, seemingly suggesting that the Ducks should never have fired Bruce Boudreau to begin with by implying Caryle is a downgrade.

Former Duck Ryan Whitney has spoken out on the issue stating that Carlyle was universally hated by his players during his previous tenure in Anaheim, and also indicating that he doesn't see this working out.
