Looks like his return has been delayed.
It's a bit of a good news and bad news situation for the Detroit Red Wings ahead of their matchup against the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow night at Little Caesars Arena.
The good news is that forward Tyler Bertuzzi, who has missed the last six weeks after breaking his other hand blocking a shot against the Buffalo Sabres in late November, is slated to return to the lineup. The bad news is that Filip Zadina, who broke a bone in his leg blocking a shot in early November, isn't ready yet after having suffered what head coach Derek Lalonde described as a slight setback.
“Understandable, especially with the type of lower-body injury he had,” Lalonde said. “Maybe (return) on the road trip (next week), probably still week to week.”
Zadina will certainly be looking to make an impact offensively upon his return, and so will fans. In 169 career NHL games, Zadina has tallied a total of 61 points, not exactly the kind of production that he or the team was envisioning when they selected him with the 6th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
