New details have emerged that paint a far more complete picture of just how battered the Philadelphia Flyers were during their playoff run before ultimately falling in the second round to the Carolina Hurricanes.

While the result may suggest a straightforward series, the reality inside the Flyers’ dressing room was anything but. According to a team injury announcement, Philadelphia was dealing with an extensive list of significant injuries throughout the postseason, impacting nearly every area of the lineup.

Among the most notable absences and injuries were forward Trevor Zegras, who played through an elbow ligament sprain while still leading the team offensively in the playoffs with 6 points in 10 games. Zegras had already been a major contributor during the regular season with 26 goals and 67 points in his first year with the Flyers.

Captain Travis Konecny was also heavily affected, battling through fractured ribs and a nasal fracture after leading the team in regular-season scoring with 27 goals and 68 points. His availability and effectiveness were clearly limited as the series progressed.

Overall, the list includes significant injuries to multiple key contributors:

Emil Andrae (fractured wrist requiring surgery), Alex Bump (MCL sprain), Noah Cates (fractured foot), Christian Dvorak (fractured rib and separated shoulder), Garnet Hathaway (fractured fibula), Owen Tippett (internal bleeding and core muscle injury), Cam York (fractured rib), Nikita Grebenkin (upper-body injury), and several others.

In total, 10 Flyers players were listed with notable injuries during the postseason, including six of the team’s top-10 regular-season scorers.

Despite the physical toll, Philadelphia continued to compete and pushed through a demanding playoff schedule before eventually being eliminated.

While the Hurricanes move on, the injury report raises a clearer understanding of just how compromised the Flyers were down the stretch… and how different the series might have looked at full strength.
