We knew the Avalanche and Canadiens were in the mix, but now this suitor too?
Despite his Penguins entering what looks like a full team rebuild, superstar captain Sidney Crosby is not expected to leave Pittsburgh. The rumours are loud, and some have sent Crosby packing to Colorado or Montreal, but for now, reports only show that the star forward is fed up with all the rumours and focused on his role in Pittsburgh under new head coach Dan Muse.
Crosby has extended his contract to 2027 and many fans and pundits do no expect him to leave the Penguins. His loyalty to the team has been mentioned every single time a trade rumour has come up.
However, in recent days, a new rumours have place Crosby back in trade chatter, but this time, linking him to a new suitor, other than the Avalanche or the Canadiens.
According to insider Frank Seravalli, on top of the Avs or the Habs, the Los Angeles would be a possible landing spot for Crosby if ever he chooses to move.
This is a new surprising contender in the mix, though LA has been getting serious for the past few seasons about getting deep into a playoff run. This could be an interesting pursuit from the Kings, though you can only imagine what it would take to acquire a player like Crosby, despite being almost 38 years old.
In the past months, Crosby has been linked to the Colorado Avalanche and Montreal Canadiens, with Pierre McGuire recently providing an example of what it would take for the Habs to acquire the Penguins’ captain:
-a first-round pick
-a top prospect
-AND and NHL player (“and a great one at that”) to land Crosby.
But until Crosby is the one saying anything about the possibility of leaving the Penguins, there is no truth to the rumours buzzing around the league…
