This would be an interesting twist.

The St. Louis Blues are certainly at the beginning of a transitional period in their franchise, just a few short years after achieving hockey's ultimate glory of raising the Stanley Cup after a hard-fought seven game series against the Boston Bruins in 2019.
They've already traded sniper forward Vladimir Tarasenko to the New York Rangers, and the wide speculation is that captain and former 2019 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Ryan O'Reilly could soon follow him out of St. Louis, especially with the NHL Trade Deadline quickly approaching.
You may remember that O'Reilly has been linked to the likes of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes and Seattle Kraken. But could a surprising new team be on the forefront of acquiring him? According to Elliotte Friedman, don't be surprised to see the Vegas Golden Knights roll the dice on a trade.
Captain Mark Stone recently underwent back surgery and is currently listed as being out "indefinitely". An acquisition of O'Reilly would certainly continue their high-rolling way of doing business, and would give them the top-six forward that would fill in for Stone during his absence.
