UPDATE: It's official, the Vegas Golden Knights have signed free agent goaltender Carter Hart to a professional tryout (PTO) contract. He cannot play for the team until he is officially reinstated on December 1st.
The team released a lengthy statement regarding today's news.
Following the reinstatement decision agreed on by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association, goaltender Carter Hart will be joining the Vegas Golden Knights organization. The Golden Knights are aligned with the process and assessment the NHL and NHLPA made in their decision. We remain committed to the core values that have defined our organization from its inception and expect that our players will continue to meet these standards moving forward.

This just in, according to a report from NHL insider Cam Robinson, the Vegas Golden Knights are on the verge of signing free agent goaltender Carter Hart to a two year contract worth $1.8 million per season.
From Robinson:
Hart is not eligible to play until December 1st, 2025 after serving a suspension from NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. Hart, of course, is one of the five members of team Canada's 2018 World Junior squad who was accused and then exonerated of sexual assault charges.
The 27 year old goaltender did not play at all last season after being cut loose by the Philadelphia Flyers amidst allegations.
