The Calgary Flames gave up very little when they acquired forward Alex Chiasson from the Ottawa Senators, a sign that the Senators didn't hold the soon to be restricted free agent in high regard.

Despite that it's clear that the Flames see a big bodied forward that can become a quality reclamation project for the organization and it sounds like Chiasson views the move to Calgary very much the same way. Chiasson told sports reporter Ryan Leslie that he couldn't be happier to be headed to Calgary, and furthermore specifically stated that he viewed this as an opportunity to rejuvenate his career.

It's easy to track Chiasson's decline in production, it occurred immediately when he joined the Ottawa Senators and got even worse in the second season. As a member of the Dallas Stars he produced 35 points in his first full season, and that is the form both Chiasson and the Flames are hoping he can recapture.
