As you know, voters in Tempe rejected plans to build a new arena for the Coyotes, leaving the team’s future in Arizona in jeopardy. While the team and deputy commissioner Bill Daly has confirmed that the Coyotes will remain at the 4,600-seat Mullett Arena on the Arizona State University campus for the 2023–24 season, the possibility of a relocation appears greater than before, there is a sense that relocation could be around the corner.

And Kansas City wants it. On Wednesday morning, mayor Quinton Lucas on Wednesday sent his best wishes to Bettman.

“Good morning, Kansas City, surrounds, and Gary Bettman,” Lucas wrote on Twitter.

Later on Wednesday, it was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes send a tweet out to the NHL, saying that the Kansas City Coyotes has a nice ring to it.

Kansas City hasn’t had an NHL team since the Scouts left for Colorado in 1976.

You have to admit a new start in KC for the Coyotes sounds pretty good.
