Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty has been the target of a great deal of criticism ever since the decision was made to give him the "C" and, unless something drastic happens, that doesn't seem like it's gonna change any time soon.
While we don't have any survey data to support this claim, it often feels like Pacioretty is one of the least-respected captains in the entire league, and on Friday we got one more example to support that claim.
While a couple of fans were bantering online about the hockey IQ of certain players, TSN's Shaun Simpson was asked if giving Pacioretty a 4 out of 10 in terms of hockey IQ was a fair statement to make. Simpson's response was a damning indictment of how he views the Habs captain when he suggested that the 4 out of 10 had been "generous."
This is a clear indicator that Simpson does not feel Pacioretty is very intelligent, at least not when it comes to playing the game of hockey, and that is now just the latest knock against the Canadiens captain.
