It was a heart-pounding finish for the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Centre, as their 4-0 lead suddenly was cut down to 4-3 with the host Sabres fully pressing for the tying marker.
They had a golden opportunity to knot the score in the final two minutes of regulation after an ill-timed penalty to defenseman Jake Waman for high sticking Sabres forward Jeff Skinner. Thankfully, the Red Wings were able to prevent any further damage after captain Dylan Larkin buried his second goal of the night into the empty net, sealing the 5-3 victory.
And ahead of tonight's home game against the San Jose Sharks, Walman had to break out the checkbook. He was fined $2,500 for the high stick on Skinner:

The Red Wings have once again been enjoying steady play and production out of Walman, who has scored five goals with seven assists along with a +11 rating.
