This year's All-Star Game was wrought with injury. Players such as Sidney Crosby, Sergei Bobrovsky and Erik Johnson (among others), suffered injuries before the weekend and could not participate. The players chosen to replace Crosby and Johnson were Johnny Gaudreau of the Clagary Flames and Aaron Ekblad of the Florida Panthers. Good choices, but not the choice that should have been made. Dougie Hamilton is quietly having a career season. When the Bruins were suffering from numerous injuries on the blueline earlier in the season, Hamilton stepped up and performed great bot offensively and defensively. He currently has eight goals and 18 assists for 26 total points while logging 21:48 average TOI. Very impressive numbers considering he was basically alone on D for half the season. The NHL got this decision very wrong by selecting Gaudreau and Ekblad as replacements. If you look at what Hamilton has done for the Bruins this season, the other two do not even compare. Hamilton should have been an All-Star, shame on you NHL.
