NHL celebrates a 50 years old huge event.

The NHL is 100 years old and through its amazing story, a lot of milestones have been reached. We remember most the amazing feats of legendary players such as Gretzky or Richard, but the organization in itself has grown a fair bit along the years too. 

This is precisely what we're celebrating today with the 50th anniversary of what is often called ''The second six''. 

It's not often mentioned but these teams have been around for a long time. Of these 6, two teams have a more tortuous history. The Minnesota North Stars were moved to Dallas back in 1993 and the Wild completed the renaissance of hockey in Minnesota. The California Seals had a tougher stretch and ceased to exist in 1978 when they merged with the Northstars. 

In the end, out of these 6 teams, 4 have had an amazing history. The Flyers won 2 Cups along the way, the Kings two and the Penguins are on the path to their 5th. Only the poor Blues haven't tasted the ultimate victory yet, and it could happen sooner than later.
