The NHL Department of Player Safety has issued a $5,000 dollar fine to Jannik Hansen of the Vancouver Canucks following his hit on Tommy Wingels. It appears that while the NHL's Player Safety committee believes the principal point of contact was the head, the hit did not merit a suspension. The Sharks Wingels was visibly shaken up on the play and had difficulty leaving the ice, but he would eventually return to the game.
