NHL forward earns contract from PTO
Keystone Press

It has become a rarity when an NHLer ends up signing a contract following his professional try out. Not to say it does not happen but it seems less common every year. Here is a case where the PTO has indeed paid dividends! It is being reported that Jimmy Hayes has signed a 1 year deal with the New Jersey Devils who he recently signed a PTO with.

The contract is worth 700k. Hayes played with the Boston Bruins last season and had only 5 points in 58 games. He is looking to bounce back this year with the Devils! What do you think of this signing? This is similar to the 800K Drew Stafford signing. Ray Shero making moves!
