Should Formenton be allowed back in the NHL?

Ottawa Senators GM Steve Staios was asked earlier today about restricted free agent Alex Formenton and his future with the team. His response? No response.

Of the five players who were accused and and then exonerated in the 2018 World Juniors scandal, Formenton is the only player who is not an unrestricted free agent. The Senators still hold Formenton's NHL rights, while the likes of Carter Hart, Dillon Dube, Cal Foote and Michael McLeod are all unrestricted free agents.

Of course, none of the players have been cleared to resume play in the league by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. It seems unlikely that Formenton will resume his NHL career and even more unlikely that he would do so with the Senators. I can't imagine the team wanting his baggage and I would imagine that Formenton himself would prefer a fresh start.
