NHL GM slams his own player, calls him the worst on the team.

You never heard a National Hockey League general manager talk about a player this way. 

It's now crystal clear that the Las Vegas Golden Knights are not at all happy with their decision to sign Russian foward Vadim Shipachyov from the Kontinental Hockey League this summer. Given the reports that surfaced regarding Shipachyov blocking a trade earlier today it's not hard to see why. 

Golden Knights general manager George McPhee was asked why things didn't work out with Shipachyov today after the team officially terminated his contract, and his response was a damning condemnation of the player.

Jess Granger of the Las Vegas Sun is reporting that not only did MCPhee out Shipachyov as a player who did not want to go work in the American Hockey League to improve his game, but went so far as to call him the worst center on the entire Golden Knights roster. 

When you consider that this is an expansion team we are talking about, and the fact that he gave the team a run-around when it comes to the block trade, we don't expect he will ever be back in the NHL.
