NHL hands down punishment to Kings player

Milan Lucic has been suspended one game for his punch to Arizona defenseman Kevin Connauton.

The incident happened in the third period of last nights game. Both players slashed each other and Lucic came in with a shot right to the chops of Connauton. Lucic was given a roughing penalty and a game misconduct on the play.

Lucic was not happy with what was handed out during the game, but you have to keep control and as much as it might have seemed like a jab coming from Lucic. It is the type of pay that the NHL wants out of the game. Headshots have to be taken out of the game. Connauton was not injured on the play but if he was, the NHL would have probably handed down a stiffer penalty.
