NHL insider claims to have the name of the Las Vegas franchise, and he doesn't approve.

With an official announcement expected Tuesday, one National Hockey League insider claims to already have the name of the NHL's new Las Vegas franchise.

A report from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journalclaims that the new name will be the Las Vegas Desert Hawks, and he's very confident in the prediction stating "take this to the bank."

That's not to say that he approves of the name, in fact quite the opposite, Matheson appeared to chastise NHL executives who he blames for the team moving away from a different choice, a choice that one can probably assume he liked better.

" It should definitely be the Vegas Aces, but the tall foreheads at the NHL head office want nothing to do with gambling references."
