UPDATE: ESPN insider Emily Kaplan has confirmed that the Sabres will in fact be wearing their traditional blue and gold jerseys for Game 7 tonight, not the black and red alternate jerseys as speculated online earlier today.

Read below for our earlier report on this developing story.

The two greatest words in sports: Game Seven.

Tonight, the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens will face-off in Game 7 of their second round series, with the winning heading to the Eastern Conference Final to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Sabres have made several changes throughout the series, most notably flip-flopping between goaltenders Alex Lyon and Ukko-Pekka Luukonen. While head coach Lindy Ruff has refused to name his starting goaltender for tonight's game, he did sort of tip his cap, literally, to a major change for the team this evening.

Check it out:

What's the big deal, you might be asking?

Well... why might Ruff be wearing the Sabres' alternate logo? He has yet to wearing those colors or that branding all post-season long.

Does this point to a uniform change for the Sabres in Game ?

Shades of Dominik Hasek? Maybe call up Mike Peca or Miro Satan for backup?

Stay tuned.
