Finally, the words you want to hear, the headline you want to read. NHL insider Darren Dreger took the microphone on TSN 1260 in Edmonton, Thursday morning, and though there was nothing new to report on the Matt Duchene saga, Dreger drew up the perfect solution to put an end to it.

According to Dreger, leaders in the Colorado Avalanche dressing room should play a part into getting GM Joe Sakic to trade Duchene. Dreger suggested that Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog should put pressure on Sakic to make a deal and start the new season on the right foot.

"They should say 'hey boss, we had a brutal year last season, let's start fresh, get a deal done, so we can get better'," Dreger explained.

The Ottawa Senators have shown considerable interest in acquiring Duchene, though the asking price in Denver remains steep, possibly including key players like Cody Ceci and Thomas Chabot

The Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, Montreal Canadiens and Anaheim Ducks have also inquired about Duchene.

Sakic has a few options to consider more seriously now, especially if his leaders are getting antsy.
