All eyes are on Connor McDavid these days.

The Edmonton Oilers' superstar captain is about to head into the 2025-26 season without a contractual agreement beyond the season and could leave the team as a free agent in summer 2026. In media interviews McDavid has maintained his intent is to stay in Edmonton and win with the Oilers. But... if that's the case, then why hasn't he signed yet?

There have been rumors that McDavid would prefer a short-term contract, say of 3 or 4 years, over a long-term 8 year deal. Yesterday though McDavid hit Oilers fans with a bit of a shock when he said that "all options are on the table, short-term, long-term... no-term.

That means what exactly? Not signing in Edmonton and heading to free agency? Oh... my

One thing is for sure: This story won't stop until McDavid signs in Edmonton. Until then it's going to be a full scale speculation circus on his future.
