The Toronto Maple Leafs raised more than a few eyebrows over the summer when they fired general manager Kyle Dubas, and then soon replaced him with former Calgary Flames GM Brad Treliving.

The latter immediately began putting his mark on the new team, acquiring a handful of new players that included the likes of scrappy forward Tyler Bertuzzi, along with Max Domi, the son of former beloved Leafs enforcer Tie Domi. Both players were signed to one-year contracts, and both are hoping to impress enough that they earn longer deals when it comes time for the offseason.

But as far as the futures of both Bertuzzi and Domi are concerned, there doesn't appear to be any progress made on new contracts with the Leafs.

According to noted NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, there hasn't been anything discussed as far as he can tell about potential returns to Toronto for both players.

"Before we turn the page on the Leafs... I looked into it, and it doesn't sound like those [contract talks] are active right now. Domi and Bertuzzi are probably bigger deals, so those other ones are easy to do right now, and it's great for both [Bobby McMann and Simon Benoit].

I don't think there's anything close on Domi or Bertuzzi."

Bertuzzi has scored 18 goals with 19 assists in 71 games played, while Domi has scored eight goals with 33 assists in 73 games played. Should the Leafs consider bringing one or both players back next season?
