Insider shares the latest on Roope Hintz just hours before Game 3.
This is looking like good news for the Dallas Stars ahead of Game 3 in Edmonton on Sunday afternoon.
One of the major storylines coming into Game 3 surrounded the health of Stars star forward Roope Hintz after he left Game 2 with what looked to be a serious injury to his foot or leg. Hintz was injured after he received a slash from Darnell Nurse that didn't appear to be particularly vicious, but it was enough that Hintz had to be helped off the ice by two of his teammates.
While the injury looked serious at the time it may have looked worse than it really was, with National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman reporting that Hintz has indeed travelled with the Stars for Game 3 in Edmonton. According to the insider the Stars have already arrived at Rogers Place and Hintz was with the rest of his teammates.
It remains a possibility that Hintz has merely traveled with his team and will still be unable to participate in tonight's game, but we aren't likely to get an official answer in that regard until closer to puck drop.
Hintz has been a big contributor for the Stars in these playoffs with 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points in just 15 playoff games and there's no question that the Stars and their fans are hoping this is a sign that he will be ready to play in Game 3 tonight.
