Boston Bruins A.J. Greer had a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday and the verdict is in. The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Greer is suspended for one game for Cross-checking Montreal’s Mike Hoffman.
The incident took place during a face-off in front of the Bruins bench during the first period of Boston’s 4-2 win. Greer received a major penalty for cross-checking Canadiens’ Mike Hoffman and a game misconduct.
Hoffman finished the game for Montreal despite being helped by a team trainer because he was bleeding.
The Bruins are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning in Boston.
And that will take place without Greer, to the surprise of many Bruins’ fans who do now agree with the league’s decision.
You can imagine how Habs’ fans believe Greer should be banned for more than just one game…
