Toronto Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov will have to pay the equivalent of $51 000 for some speeding tickets he got back in Finland according to TSN.

In this country, the fine depends on the salary of the one who gets it. Komarov, who played in the KHL before he got his fine and hadn't begun playing for the Leafs, declared he had no revenues. A judge sided with the authority, claiming the hockey player should have declared his revenus from the KHL and take into account his contract he signed with the Maple Leafs.

Komarov was facing up to six months in prison for fraud.

The 28-year-old alternated between the KHL and the NHL over the past few seasons. After playing with the Moscow Dynamo in 2013-2014, he came back with the Maple Leafs, playing in 62 games and recording 26 points.
