Fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs are expecting vengeance on Monday night, with the Maple Leafs traveling to Anaheim to take on the Anaheim Ducks.

The last time these two teams went head to head, Ducks captain Radko Gudas took out Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews with a knee on knee hit that put an end to Matthews' season. The Maple Leafs did absolutely nothing in response to the hit from Gudas, resulting in backlash so fierce it is still reverberating through the National Hockey League even now.

That leaves the Maple Leafs a perfect chance to finally seek retribution on Monday night, but it sounds like the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety may be preemptively trying to maintain order in this one.

According to a report from The Hockey News' David Alter, head of NHL Player Safety George Paros will be in attendance tonight in Anaheim to personally oversee the game between the Leafs and Ducks.

That could very well mean that both teams will be warned ahead of time to make sure that things do not go over the line, which could in turn mean that fans hoping for vengeance will be left disappointed later tonight. That being said it remains to be seen how both team will respond to the animosity that has built up for tonight's game, with Radko Gudas vowing to play even though he is currently injured.
