NHL player tears up during interview after scoring in front of his son.

This is just an incredibly feel good moment right before the holidays.

Edmonton Oilers' forward Patrick Maroon had the opportunity to play in front of his hometown crowd in St. Louis last night and he made the best of the opportunity recording his 9th goal of the season, and perhaps one of the most significant goals of his National Hockey League career.

The significance didn't come from the game but rather from the fact that his young son was in the crowd watching on as his dad scored a big foal for this team. Maroon was interviewed after the game about the moment, and you could hear the emotion in his voice as they showed the reaction of his son on screen, and it was obvious the moment had reduced Maroon to tears.

A truly wonderful moment between father and son.
