A pretty crazy story came out of social media Wednesday when Edmonton Oilers prospect Ty Rimmer announced that he had been battling with testicular cancer. In a series of tweets Rimmer detailed how two weeks ago he received a diagnosis that no young man ever wants to hear from his doctor. Rimmer who is just 22 years old was signed by Oilers last season and has spent his time in the minors, he was with the Quad City Mallards when he got the news. The news wasn't all bad however, as Rimmer described how his tumor had been removed, and was now focused on raising awareness for the disease. We wish Rimmer all the best in his attempts to make a full recovery.
