NHL prospect gets destroyed by one of the worst cheap shots you will ever see.
One of the dirtiest hits you're ever going to see.
HockeyFeed
If you had to find a textbook example of all the things not to do when delivering a hockey hit, this might be that example.
There's honestly no excusing this disgusting cheap shot Penn State forward Andrew Sturtz, who lifted his skates and launched himself up and into the head pf his opponent, who delivered the hit late to a blindsided opponent, and who drove his elbow into the face of his opponent, all in the matter of just a few short seconds, and all in a single hit.
The end result was a shaken up and bloodied Blackhawk's prospect, Michigan's Tyler Motte, who thankfully was able to recover from the blow despite suffering some very obvious damage to his face as a result. Much to his credit Motte would stay in the game, and even managed to score after taking this ridiculous blow, a sign of true grit from this young man.
The good news is, the Big Ten Network has just announced Sturtz has been suspended by the Big Ten, albeit for only one game.
Just in: Big Ten has suspended Penn State's Andrew Sturtz for this hit Saturday night. https://t.co/HZonsPYA9i— Big Ten Network (@BigTenNetwork) 1 Février 2016
