NHL prospect makes unbelievable save despite taking a big hit in his net!

While there may not be any NHL hockey this time of year, that doesn't mean some of the league's prospects are busy getting more experience in the hopes of eventually making the NHL.

Currently there is one event showcasing a number of NHL prospects, the Sochi Hockey Open, and while there were a number of terrific plays, the highlight of the day has to be the unbelievable save made by New York Rangers prospect Igor Shestyorkin.

Shestyorkin was absolutely run over in his own crease, late in the game, and to make matters worse his head collided with the goal cam and did so with enough force to knock his helmet off his head. Despite that, the young goaltender was somehow able to sense the puck and stick out his leg to make a pad save, allowing just one goal on 35 shots in the contest.
