National Hockey League prospect Michael Campoli was involved in a scary incident during development camp today.

According to the Buffalo News Campoli was injured after he took a hit from from former second round draft pick William Carrier along the boards, and while he did try to get back up to his feet, he immediately collapsed back down to the ice and stayed there. All in all Campoli stayed motionless on the ice for 20 minutes and a stretcher was brought out to help move him off the playing surface.

While we still don't know the extent of the injury there were some good signs, Campoli was responsive when he left the arena, and furthermore he recently sent out a message on social media revealing that he had already been released from hospital, so hopefully his injury isn't too serious.

We expect to hear more regarding the status of his injury in the next few days.
