Which NHL superstar is #1 this season?
The National Hockey League is a star-driven league which means that the league can only do as well as the top stars in the game will allow it to. Thankfully for both the NHL and hockey fans we are currently in an era of abundance with superstar level players across the league driving fan engagement around the globe.
But which of those stars shines the brightest?
There are a number of metrics we can use to judge that including social media following, player salaries, and more and on Saturday the NHL released another metric that can be used to measure star popularity, it's jersey sale rankings.
The league has revealed the Top 10 jersey sellers for the 2025-26 NHL regular season and at the very top of that list is Chicago Blackhawks star forward Connor Bedard. The fans in Chicago have come out and shown a huge level of support for Bedard, beating out every other superstar in the league. We don't know just how many jerseys each player sold, as the NHL does not release those figures to the public.
Here is your full Top 10:
#1 Connor Bedard - Chicago Blackhawks
#2 Alex Ovechkin - Washington Capitals
#3 Sidney Crosby - Pittsburgh Penguins
#4 Jack Hughes - New Jersey Devils
#5 Connor McDavid - Edmonton Oilers
#6 Nathan MacKinnon - Colorado Avalanche
#7 Cale Makar - Colorado Avalanche
#8 David Pastrnak - Boston Bruins
#9 Auston Matthews - Toronto Maple Leafs
#10 Macklin Celebrini - San Jose Sharks.
A special mention needs to go out to the fans in Colorado who didn't get a player in the Top 5, but managed to get two of their top stars into the Top 10. An impressive level of support for their team, who admittedly had a very special season.
