Restricted free agent Josh Anderson is still waiting for an agreement with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but looks to have options up his sleeve. His agent has been in touch with Hockey Canada about the 2018 Olympics, according to Sportsnet's John Shannon

Anderson is one of two restricted free agents across the NHL, along with Andreas Athanasiou of the Detroit Red Wings, who has used the Kontinental Hockey League as leverage in negotiations. He has threatened to play next season in Europe if an agreement doesn't come to fruition.

The upcoming season is under way in less than two weeks and Anderson still has not reported to the Jackets' camp.

In 78 games last year, Anderson scored 17 goals and added 12 assists.
