NHL superstar shares support for team that hates his guts.

Boston Bruins' fans probably didn't see this one coming.

With the Dallas Stars in a tight playoff race in the NHL's Central Division, Stars' forward Tyler Seguin offered support to the team that, simply put, can't stand him. The Bruins faced-off against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night and as the Bruins and Blues played a closely knit game into the third period, Seguin fired off a tweet in the direction of his former club.

"Little bit of a weird thing to say but come on Bruins!", said Seguin, who is currently recovering from an injury.

Seguin's time in Boston is overshadowed by one of the most lopsided trades in recent memory, as the Bruins sent Tyler Seguin, forward Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button to the Stars for forward Loui Eriksson and three prospects (Joseph Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser) in 2013. The deal ended up working unanimously in Dallas's favor, as Seguin has blossomed into one of the NHL's most dangerous goal scorers. In addition, the fact that Seguin won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins prior to the trade is like salt in an open wound.

Evidently, the Bruins scored on a power play a few moments later - which eventually stood as the game winner - and the Stars held on to their two-point lead atop the division.

This encouragement, though temporary, seemed to do the trick for the Bruins on Friday. Although it may be the last favor they get out of Seguin for some time to come.
