The NHL has made its decision and just announced that Detroit Red Wings captain and star forward Dylan Larkin has been suspended one game for roughing Tampa Bay Lightning's Mathieu Joseph during Thursday night’s contest.
This all started when Joseph hit Larkin into the boards from behind. The captain responded by punching Joseph as he skated away, unaware of Larkin’s reaction. A scrum of course ensued as Lightning defenseman Jan Rutta got into the mix. Both Rutta and Joseph received two minutes for roughing. Larkin received a match penalty for intent to injure after sucker-punching Joseph.
This is Larkin's first suspension in the NHL. He will forfeit $30,500.00.
More to come.
