The Carolina Hurricanes are the latest team to come off the holiday break with depressing announcement for their fan base.

The team reported on Wednesday that their two-time All-Star defenseman Justin Faulk suffered a lower body injury in a match up between the Hurricanes and the Bruins this past Friday. To Faulk's credit he finished that game, but now it seems like he may be out for a while.

The Hurricanes have officially listed him as week to week, and without them revealing the exact nature of Faulk's injury it's hard to gauge just how many weeks that may end up being.

Faulk had previously appeared in 30 games for the Hurricanes this season, putting up 7 goals and 9 assists over that stretch.
