We have a great story to share from the National Hockey League today.

The New Jersey Devils announced on Friday that they have signed 9-year old Santino Anastasia to a one-day contract, making him an honorary member of the Devils for a day, and treating him to the experience of a lifetime as a result.

Unfortunately Santino has been battling cancer, specifically acute lymphoblastic leukemia, since he was just 8 years old, but today the Devils did the best they could to reward him for being so strong and so brave through his battle with the terrible disease.

The day featured a number of great moments that were shared by the Devils, including the official contract signing, a moment highlighted by the genuine smile on the face of general manager Ray Shero.

Santino even got to spend time with the Devil's players including star goaltender Cory Schneider.

In a very classy move Devil Adam Henrique tweeted out his "new teammate."

An overall feel good story, and once again a terrific example of why the conduct from sport of hockey in North America is a true example for all other sports around the world.
