NHL teams place over 40 players on waivers on Sunday.

A massive day on waivers for several teams around the National Hockey League with over 40 players available.

We are only 9 days away from the start of a new season in the National Hockey League and that means that training camps around the league are rapidly coming to a close, and rosters around the NHL are rapidly starting to take shape.

Unfortunately for many players that means that they are learning that they have not made it onto the main roster, at least for the time being, and that also often results in a number of players swapping teams. That could very well be the case for several players on Monday, as over 40 players have been placed on waivers on Sunday and all of them are eligible to be claimed by a rival team.

There are a massive number of players up for grabs over the next 24 hours, so let's get right down to the list:

Stay tuned for an update tomorrow on which players, if any, will be changing hands.
