The Coronavirus seems destined to ruin everything fun. The NHL has sent a memo to players telling them to limit interactions with fans due to fears over the spread of COVID-19. The memo has been confirmed by NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly to the Canadian Press.

The NHL isn't the first league to do something like this. The NBA has told its players to stop high-fiving fans and strangers, and avoid taking items for autographs. The NHL has also told league employees to halt all business-related travel outside North America and if an individual ends up in a location affected by the virus on their own, the NHL is mandating a two-week quarantine before that person can return to work.

The Swiss National League has postponed its playoffs until the middle of March while sporting events around the globe have been cancelled in an attempt to stop the spread of Coronavirus.

The county where the San Jose Sharks are located has recommended that large events be cancelled until the outbreak is contained. However, the Sharks versus the Ottawa Senators game on the schedule for Saturday night. However, it seems like it's only a matter of time before we see sporting, and other events cancelled in North America. This could end up being a huge blow for the NHL playoffs.
