See what happened, and did not happen, on deadline day

Fans were expecting blockbusters and crazy moves, but I have to say it was quite calm for a Deadline day. A lot of rumours emerged involving players like Robert Thomas, Blake Coleman, Rasmus Ristolainen, Vincent Trocheck, to name a few, but… they’ve stayed put.

Here are the moves that did take place prior to the deadline at 3 p.m. ET.

TRANSACTIONS

MARCH 6

  • The New York Rangers have moved Brennan Othmann to the Calgary Flames in return for Jacob Battaglia.
  • The Winnipeg Jets moved Tanner Pearson to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a seventh rounder.
  • At the final buzzer, the Calgary Flames moved Nazem Kadri back to the Colorado Avalanche. The Flames sent Kadri (20% / $1.4 million retained per year) and a 2027 4th Round Pick in exchange for 2028 COL 1st Round Pick, 2027 2nd Round Pick, Max Curran and Victor Olofsson.
  • The Vancouver Canucks traded Lukas Reichel to the Boston Bruins, in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.
  • The Vancouver Canucks traded David Kampf to the Washington Capitals for a sixth-round pick.
  • The Maple Leafs moved Scott Laughton to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a third round pick, that becomes a second if LA makes the playoffs.
  • The Anaheim Ducks have traded Ryan Strome to the Calgary Flames, for just a seventh round pick in 2027.
  • The St. Louis Blues have traded defenseman Justin Faulk to the Detroit Red Wings in return for Justin Holl, Dmitri Buchelnikov, a 2026 1st round pick (DET) and 2026 3rd (SJS).
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs traded Bobby McMann in exchange a 2nd round pick (2027) and a 4th round pick (2026) from the Seattle Kraken.
  • The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Elmer Soderblom from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a 2026 third-round draft pick (originally belonging to San Jose).
  • The St. Louis Blues traded captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders in return for Jonathan Drouin, 2026 1st (Colorado), a 3rd and Marcus Gidlof.
  • The Washington Capitals are acquiring Timothy Liljegren from the San Jose Sharks.
  • The Philadelphia Flyers traded veteran forward Nicolas Deslauriers to the Carolina Hurricanes for a conditional seventh round pick in return.
  • The Wild has traded Vinnie Hinostroza to the Florida Panthers for future considerations.
  • The Kings have traded Corey Perry to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a second round pick in 2028.
  • Chicago Blackhawks move Nick Foligno to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations.
  • Boston acquire Massimo Rizzo and Alexis Gendron from Philly in return for Brett Harrison and Jackson Edward in an AHL swap.
  • The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman David Jiricek from the Minnesota Wild in a one-for-one swap for winger Bobby Brink.
  • The Washington Capitals trade defenseman John Carlson to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional first-round pick in 2026 and a third-round pick in 2027.
  • The Winnipeg Jets trade defensemen Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Isak Rosen, Jacob Bryson, a fourth-round pick in 2026, and a second-round pick in 2027.
  • The New York Rangers trade forward Sam Carrick to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a third-round pick in 2026 and a sixth-round pick in 2026.
  • The Vancouver Canucks trade forward Conor Garland to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a third-round pick in 2026 and a second-round pick in 2028.

  • The Ottawa Senators trade forward David Perron to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2026.**
  • The Los Angeles Kings trade forward Warren Foegele and a conditional third-round pick in 2026 to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a second-round pick in 2026 and a conditional third-round pick in 2026.
  • The Nashville Predators trade forward Michael Bunting to the Dallas Stars in exchange for a third-round pick in 2026.
  • The Vancouver Canucks trade defenseman Jett Woo to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Jack Thompson.
  • The Florida Panthers trade defenseman Jeff Petry to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2026.
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs trade forward Nicolas Roy to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in 2026 and a conditional first-round pick in 2027.
  • The Washington Capitals trade forward Nic Dowd to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for goaltender Jesper Vikman, a third-round pick in 2027, and a second-round pick in 2029.
