The National Hockey League has crowned a new king of the net.

According to an official announcement from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday morning, Lightning star goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has officially been named as the 2025-26 Vezina Trophy Winner. This is Vasilevskiy's second Vezina Trophy Win.

Vasilevskiy put up solid numbers this season with a .912 save percentage and a 2.27 save percentage and did so while tackling a tremendous workload for the Lightning. Vasilevskiy appeared in 58 games this season, with only Karel Vejmelka (64) of the Utah Mammoth and Juuse Saros (59) of the Nashville Predators playing more although both those men had significantly weaker numbers this season.

This is a huge accomplishment for Vasilevskiy who once again reestablishes his reputation as one of the league's truly elite netminders. Vasilevskiy won his first Vezina for his performance during the 2018-19 regular season and it has to be incredibly validating for him to do so once again nearly 10 years later.

Vasilevskiy has now received a total of six Vezina nominations, which also help cement his status as one of the most dominant netminders during his tenure in the NHL.

Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman and New York Islanders Ilya Sorokin were the two other men who were nominated for this award but will unfortunately finish this season as finalists.
