NHLPA votes to investigate leader Donald Fehr
The walls are closing in on Fehr. Is Bettman next?

The NHL Players Association (NHLPA) has voted to initiate a full third party investigation of the Association and leader Donald Fehr as it pertains to his role in the cover up of sexual abuse allegations against former Chicago Blackhawks video coach Brad Aldrich.
Of course, former Blackhawks prospect Kyle Beach has alleged that then-Blackhawks coach Aldrich sexually assaulted him in the Spring/Summer of 2010 and that Beach went to both Blackhawks management and to the NHLPA with his story, only to be ignored by both. Neither Blackhawks management nor NHLPA leadership alerted the authorities about the matter and, essentially just swept it under the rug until Beach bravely stepped into the spotlight last week in an exclusive interview with TSN's Rick Westhead.
From the NHLPA today:
TORONTO (November 4, 2021) The NHLPA Executive Board has voted in favour of the resolution directing an independent review of the Association’s response with respect to Kyle Beach.

Beach was particularly critical of Fehr in his interview with Westhead, going so far as to implicate him as part of the cover-up.
From Beach's interview with Westhead:
("Fehr) represents the players. I don’t know where I fall under the NHLPA – I never played games other than pre-season, but I was on an NHL roster when this happened, albeit as a Black Ace. I know I reported every single detail to an individual at the NHLPA, who I was put in contact with after. I believe two different people talked to Don Fehr. And for him to turn his back on the players when his one job is to protect the players at all costs, I don’t know how that can be your leader. I don’t know how he can be in charge. If that’s what he’s going to do when a player comes to you and tells you something, whether it be abuse, whether it be drugs, whether it be anything, you’re supposed to have the players’ backs and they definitely didn’t have mine."
Frankly, I'm not sure what there is to investigate. It's clear to me that Fehr is culpable in this entire mess. He was told about what happened and chose to do nothing and for that he MUST resign in disgrace.
