A possibly intoxicated Nic Deslauriers makes a major announcement during the Stanley Cup parade.
The Carolina Hurricanes are feeling good and riding high after their huge Stanley Cup championship victory and those good vibes were on full display today as the Hurricanes celebrated with a traditional Stanley Cup parade.
While the parade featured just about everything you would expect out of a typical Stanley Cup parade, it also featured one extremely unusual moment involving pending unrestricted free agent Nicolas Deslauriers and Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky.
During the parade Tulsky walked up to the podium holding some kind of document in a folder of some sort, and he was joined by what may have been a slightly, or highly, intoxicated Deslauriers. Deslauriers walked up to the document and the podium and with a pen he made a motion of signing before yelling into the microphone in front of him.
"Two more f***ing years!" yelled out Deslauriers who seemed very excited to make the announcement.
Tulsky, who looked very much like he was all business and barely taking a second to soak in the moment, simply walked up to the podium and collected the folder before thanking the crowd and quickly making his exit.
"Thank you everyone," said Tulsky throwing his hands up in a salute reminiscent of former United States President Richard Nixon.
It was a great moment for the crowd and especially for Deslauriers who is obviously being rewarded for being such a good and loyal teammate throughout the season.
