Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno met with the media today on his return to the team following a brief leave of absence to be with his family. Foligno's 12 year old daughter Milana underwent surgery for issues relating to a congenital heart condition this past week and Folingo told reporters today that Milana is healthy and recovering at home.

"Happy to report now that Milana is home now and doing well. She's probably the one who gives us the most strength with the way that she's handled this adversity. It's impressive for a 12 year old girl to handle this face on. We're so thankful for Boston Children's Hospital... the surgeon, the nurses the care that we received there... they're incredible. Really thankful and our family is so humbled and appreciative for all the support and love and I'm just so thankful to be back around the team."

Foligno's full comments:

If you're a parent I'm sure you can see the emotion in Foligno's eyes and in his words. He's a tough guy... but not nearly as tough as his little girl.

You're doing great, Milana. Keep pushing. The entire hockey world is with you.

I can't imagine how tough and how emotional this must be for this young family.
